In 1945, EP Minerals acquired diatomaceous earth (DE) deposits outside Reno, Nevada in what’s known today as Clark. Today, the Clark plant produces soil amendments, absorbents, and carriers as well as natural filter aids and functional additives.
With the acquisition of the Moltan Company in early 2013, EP Minerals gained additional mines and processing sites in Fernley, Nevada and Middleton, Tennessee. This increased our capacity for absorbent DE products and also allowed EP to enter the clay market thus producing for sports applications.
Today, EP Minerals is known as the “go to” company when a challenging application requires a solution. EP Minerals has long been in the forefront of technological innovation; our customers depend on our being able to solve their needs no matter how complex or challenging.
EP Minerals has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the President’s “E” Certificate for excellence in exporting. This prestigious honor was awarded for our outstanding contribution to the Export Expansion Program of the United States of America.
On May 1, 2018, EP Minerals was acquired by U.S. Silica a leading producer of commercial silica used in the oil and gas industry, and in a wide range of industrial applications.
Rich Miller began using AxisDE as an end user in his landscape design build company in Portland Oregon in 2005. This soil amendment practice increased sod root uptake with his installations. He also implemented the “Smart Water Triangle” which is a holistic approach to landscape installation by way of smart irrigation controllers, hydro zoning and amending the soil with AxisDE. Shortly after relocating to Florida in 2018 Rich Miller became an independent distributor of AxisDE, DeSect, Ag-Redi and the Ceramic Sports Field products. Current customers in Florida are New Generation Agriculture, Toronto Blue Jays, Belleaire Country Club, Tampa Downs, Tampa Palms Golf Club, Old Memorial Golf Course and Heritage Isles to name a few. In 2024 Rich added an agent in the Las Vegas, NV. Market to cover the South West United States.
Rich Miller is a member of ASLA and is a certified LA CES course provider for landscape architect continuing education. He holds a Golf BMP from UF/IFAS. Rich Miller is a certified landscape irrigation auditor and irrigation contractor by the Irrigation Association and is a licensed Florida certified irrigation contractor by the DBPR. Rich Miller Distributes the EP Minerals product lines through his Florida Corporation Rich Miller Landscape Service inc. Rich is a resident of Clearwater Florida and loves the outdoors taking trips with his wife and serving on guitar with the worship team at his church.
